Data on rare diseases in Latin America are scarce. Although it is true that progress has been made, there are still regulatory, infrastructure, registry and public policy challenges that affect the development and research on this issue.

This event seeks to consolidate the Rare Disease community in Latin America, analyzing the current landscape, reviewing the obstacles and strengths in the region, and proposing recommendations to overcome the challenges.

With medical associations, patient federations, public sector actors, patients, the pharmaceutical industry, and others, we will seek to generate regional synergies in projects that contribute to the mission of Rare Diseases in the Caribbean and Latin America (ERCAL).
